KOHLER (NBC 26) — If you don't have a ticket to the Ryder Cup, you can still get in on the festivities this week at Destination Kohler. Kohler Co. is hosting a golf party that's open to the public from September 22-26th.

Beginning Wednesday, visitors will have the opportunity to watch live streams of the Ryder Cup at various venues around Destination Kohler while enjoying live entertainment, food and beverages, exclusive shopping discounts and more.

“We’re really excited to provide this additional way for people to experience the Ryder Cup even if you’re not out at the golf course,” said Betsy Froelich, the Kohler director of marketing.

The Kohler Golf Party is free and open to the public. Attendees can watch the Ryder Cup at various locations via livestream.

Entertainment will include various autograph sessions from the Milwaukee Bucks, live performances from the award-winning Scottish rock band Skerryvore and Celtic Rock/Americana band Scythian, and a premiere screening of Carrying On: a documentary film about the Caddie School for Soldiers.

“It’s been so interesting since COVID started to see how people have used things like watch parties or viewing parties to celebrate the sporting events around the world and so we thought we’d join in that fun,” Froelich said.

Other perks will include on-site food trucks and beverage stations as well as special offers and activities from select retailers.

In addition, visitors can explore the Mobile Discovery Center, a traveling exhibit that is educating the public about the world’s critical water issues and motivating them to become advocates for safe water.

Attendees can also explore the Mobile Discovery Center, a traveling exhibit that is educating the public about the world’s critical water issues.

Kohler partnered with the Global Water Center to bring the exhibit to the golf party. The Global Water Center is a non-profit aimed at combating the global water crisis.

“We’re a non-profit that serves other non-profits. The non-profits we’re serving are those that are actually out in the field doing safe water projects," said Jeff Winkler, the Global Water Center director of operations. "We’re an organization that helps them do their job better because the problem is so big that 2.2 billion people don’t have access to safe water.”

The Mobile Discovery Center offers a variety of interactive activities for people of all ages. Winkler says the Global Water Center and Kohler hope to motivate the next generation to become involved in the water crisis going on around the world.

“We want to inspire the next generation because that’s probably the generation that’s going to be able to solve this," Winkler said. "Taking two billion people who don’t have access down to zero, that’s our mission, that’s our message.”
