VILLAGE OF BLACK CREEK, Wis. — A fight between a father and son turned into an armed standoff in Outagamie County, authorities said Thursday.

In an updated news release issued Friday, the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to a disturbance at 307 S. Main St. in Black Creek at 4:00pm Thursday.

The Sheriff's Office said a father and son had gotten into a fight. At one point, the Sheriff's Office said the son threatened the father with a gun and the two wrestled each other over the weapon.

When deputies arrived, the Sheriff's Office said the 26-year-old son was in the driveway and threatened deputies, indicating he had gun in his waistband. He retreated into the house and deputies set up a perimeter. The father was able to leave the house.

After hours of negotiations, the Sheriff's Office said its emergency response team entered the home around midnight and took the son into custody. He was taken to Outagamie County Jail and booked on several charges related to the incident. The Sheriff's Office said he also had a warrant for child support.

Main St. in Black Creek was reopened shortly after 1:00am, the Sheriff's Office said.
