VILLAGE OF HARRISON — A supper club and event venue, once considered a staple in the Fox Cities, will close at the end of June.

The co-owner of the Darboy Club confirms with NBC26 that it's closing June 30th. Mark Tatro, co-owner of the 57-year-old supper club, apologizes to those who had bookings and thanks the community for its business.

Tatro cited economic reasons for closing. He said the Darboy Club only had four weddings booked for next year and usually at this time, they're completely booked. The venue is known for hosting events with a large amount of customers. But Tatro says companies aren't having Christmas parties, bowling banquets don't exist anymore and the weddings that reserve bookings are much smaller than they have been in the past. He said weddings used to bring in 400-500 customers. Now, it's about 150-200 wedding guests.

"We've got no more money," Tatro told NBC26 over the phone.

Tatro said they're in the process of contacting customers and refunding their deposits.

They have six full-time employees and about 80 total employees. Tatro says everyone will get paid.

The current ownership owned the supper club for 22 years. The Darboy Club first opened in 1962. Tatro says it has been up for sale for a couple years with little interest.
