APPLETON, Wis. — One month after the death of firefighter Mitchell Lundgaard, Crossfit Appleton hosted members of the community as well as the Appleton Fire Department for a fitness fundraiser on Saturday.

The fire department says Lundgaard was passionate about fitness and often led them in workouts. On the day of his passing, he set a goal for him and his fire crew to finish 100 Man Makers, a workout involving a plank, push-up, row, squat and shoulder press. They got halfway through when Lundgaard recieved his final call and was never able to make it back to achieve his goal.

The community banned together to finish the workout for him. More than 100 people attended the three hour event and accomplished 100 of what they call, "Mitch Makers."

Firefighters say the support from the community is overwhelming. Crossfit Appleton tells us they raised more than $4,000 dollars worth of donations for the Lundgaard family.
