WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. — A missing boater from Texas was found safe Friday morning after an extensive search on Lake Winnebago.

Officials say a camper from Kalbus Country Harbor in Black Wolf had gone out onto Lake Winnebago and was last seen near the point of Willow Harbor, just south of Oshkosh.

David Daniels, a 60-year-old disabled veteran, was found on the east shore of Lake Winnebago in Fond Du Lac County. Officials say Daniels and his boat floated to shore after he fell out of his boat. He found his way inside a building where he was later found by a homeowner.

Deputies say he didn't have a cell phone with him, but thankfully he had his life jacket. Authorities say he won't be charged for trespassing on the homeowner's property. Daniels was checked by health officials and was released.
