Power has been restored to more than a quarter million WPS and We Energies customers who were impacted by the storms, WEC Energy Group said in an email Wednesday.

"We expect to restore service to the remaining affected customers by Wednesday night," We Energies says on their website. "Our crews have restored service to the more than 100,000 customers impacted by one of the most powerful storms to hit the Fox Valley in decades."

The power company said We Energies crews will join the small army of field personnel already working to rebuild parts of the WPS network in the communities hardest hit by the storms. Most customers in the highly devastated areas around Wabeno, Antigo, Elcho and Stevens Point should have power restored by the end of the day Thursday.

There are approximately 13,700 WPS customers still without service as of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, WEC Energy Group said.
