Crews cleaning up after battling fire in De Pere area

DE PERE (NBC 26) — Fire crews have responded to a fire near Swan Road and Dickinson Road just outside of De Pere.

The building includes New Hope United Methodist Church and the Chicago Street Pub. According to Ledgeview Fire Chief Tom Guns, crews arrived to find smoke rolling out of the attic of the building. The department reports that no one was injured or sent to hospital.

Video shows multiple agencies on scene and crews pouring water on smoke.

The Green Bay Metro, Ledgeview, Ashwaubenon, and Lawrence Fire Departments, as well as Greenleaf, Wayside and Morrison Volunteer Fire Departments, De Pere Fire and Rescue were all on scene. The Brown County Sheriff's Department helped guide traffic.

Crews continued to work on the scene around 10:30 p.m. Friday. A bulldozer arrived around 9:30 p.m. and began tearing down part of the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
