ASHWAUBENON, Wis. — Ashwaubenon Police say a concealed carry permit holder held a burglary suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
Police say the burglary was reported Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. at Frost Giant Games on S. Oneida St. in the Village of Ashwaubenon. According to police, the owner of the business was notified via NEST video that someone was inside his store. Police say the owner went to the store and found a man inside wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and backpack. Police say the man ran out of the store and began running to a vehicle parked nearby. Once on the ground, police say he was seen pushing something under the vehicle.
According to police, a Concealed Carry Permit holder who was with the store owner held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived.
Police say the suspect originally gave officers a false name, but he was eventually identified as 31 year old Eric Elm of Minnesota. Police say there was cash recovered under the vehicle. Police say Elm has been booked into the Brown County Jail on Burglary, Theft, Resisting/Obstructing Officers and for an Extradition Warrant out of Minnesota for Burglary.
