APPLETON (NBC 26) -- People in the Fox Cities rallied Tuesday night around families facing a medical crisis.

Community Benefit Tree held their Life Celebration Night with life-size games, food, a raffle and silent auction.

The organization raised funds to support people with medical costs so that they don't have to choose between treatment and basic needs.

NBC26’S Stacy Engebretson was on hand to hand out awards.

"For over 15 years, we have been able to support families that are struggling financially because of medical debt,” said Executive Director Heidi Frederickson. “And really coming alongside them and supporting them financially, and helping them with resources, education, and this event helps us to support local families.”

In 15 years, community benefit tree has impacted over 650 families and raised over $5.5 million dollars.
