GRAND CHUTE (NBC 26) -- A commercial building fire sent a large plume of smoke into the air late Sunday night, Grand Chute Fire Department says.
Firefighters responded to the fire just before midnight at 500 North Bluemound Drive for a report of a commercial structure fire. Grand Chute Fire Dept. says the City of Appleton and Fox Crossing Fire Departments were also dispatched in accordance with automatic aid agreements in place.
Grand Chute firefighters entered the building to extinguish the fire quickly. No one was inside the building at the time of the fire. Grand Chute Fire Dept. also says no one was hurt. The fire damage was confined to the large CNC machine involved, fire officials say, and the majority of the building suffered from smoke damage.
The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, but it isn't considered suspicious at this time.
