GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- Don't say you weren't warned: if you don't "click it" when you get into your car you could get a ticket.

The annual seatbelt law enforcement campaign in Wisconsin runs now through November 29th.

It kicks off today with a media campaign designed to make people more aware of the life-saving benefits of buckling up.

"I've seen the end results of people not wearing their seatbelts. My best advice to you would be to wear your seatbelt. It takes less than 2 or 3 seconds to put your seatbelt on. You want to go home to your loved ones at night. You just never know when you're going to be involved in a traffic crash,” said Trooper Mark Haessly with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

According to government statistics, in 2017, seatbelts save nearly 15,000 lives.
