CITY OF MANITOWOC (NBC 26) -- The City of Manitowoc announced Sunday they are downgrading their snow emergency to a winter parking ban. Tickets will be given during the ban for those who park on restricted streets overnight.

The City says there have only been a few inches of snow so far, but they are anticipating more snowfall both Sunday and Monday nights.

The parking ban is in effect both Monday and Tuesday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. each day. This allows time for crews to plow the city Monday then clean up the downtown area and main routes Tuesday, according to a post from the City of Manitowoc.

The City asks people to seek non-restricted roads to park on and provide three designated areas downtown for people to park overnight. People will be ticketed $50 for parking on a restricted street.
