A Chilton man pleaded guilty Monday to exporting firearms to Australia illegally, according to the U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
59-year-old Andy Lloyd Huebschmann was convicted of one count of violating the Arms Export Control Act, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said in a news release.
In his guilty plea, Huebschmann admitted to making numerous firearms and firearm-parts for an Australian criminal and gun-enthusiast. The U.S. Attorney’s Office said these included parts for rifles that could function with either semiautomatic or fully automatic triggers. It also included firearm frames that could be assembled into completed pistols.
The news release states Huebschmann did not get the required export licenses. He also shipped guns in containers designed to hide the presence of firearms, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Huebschmann faces a maximum term of 20 years in prison, a maximum of three years of supervised release, and a maximum fine of $250,000. His sentencing is set for November 4.
