APPLETON, Wis. (NBC 26) -- This year U.S. Venture Children's Week has been re-imagined due to the coronavirus pandemic. There have been several socially distant activities planned along with several virtual activities for families to do together.

This Wednesday was typically the day for the annual downtown Appleton Children's Parade, but instead organizers came up with a creative way to still let families play and get creative.
The first ever Building for Kids Children’s Parade of Yards presented by ThedaCare will take place this Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Klika Family is one of 38 other families that have decided to participate. "We're trying to entertain our kids right now with all of the Covid going on. Just looking for different activities to do as a family," said, mom of three, Natalie Klika.

Each participating home will be judged based on creativity, imagination and confidence.
The homes will remain decorated until the end of U.S. Venture Children's Week on Saturday, July 25th.
