BELLEVUE (NBC 26) -- Children were able to escape a daycare fire safely Friday afternoon, Bellevue Fire and Rescue said.
Fire crews responded around 1:45 p.m. to reports of a fire at Tiny Town Daycare. Bellevue Fire and Rescue said crews found the daycare filled with smoke and a small fire in the utility room of the building.
The children at the daycare were able to escape safely, fire officials said, and were taken to a nearby hotel until they were able to be let back in. No one was hurt.
The daycare facility sustained about $1,000 in total losses and was able to re-open after the facility was vented. The Bellevue Fire and Rescue Department believe a utility fan caused the fire.
