BEAVER DAM — Beaver Dam Police are searching for a driver accused of hitting a child and then driving away.
Police responded around 6:22 Thursday night to S. Spring St and E. Davis St for a report of a child hit by a car. The child's mother had already taken him to the hospital by the time officers arrived.
According to witnesses, police say, the driver briefly stopped but did not get out of the car. Police say he then drove away, heading southbound on S. Spring St.
The vehicle is described as a mid 90's to mid 2000s silver sedan, possibly a Buick, with black paint sprayed near the bottom of the vehicle.
Police say they continued to follow leads.
