APPLETON, Wis. — On Wednesday night, community volunteers were honored at the 22nd Annual Celebrating Volunteers Community Gala at the Red Lion Paper Valley Hotel in Appleton. The awards are presented by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Post-Crescent.
Seven people were presented awards in seven different categories. The awards range from arts to youth to health care.
For a full list of the winners, click here. Each winner gets $5,000 to donate to a charity of their choice. The youth volunteer winner gets $1,500 scholarship and $1,000 to a charity of her choice.
Since 1998, about $700,000 has been donated to local charities.
