KAUKAUNA, Wis. (NBC 26) -- Read Across America Day was inaugurated by the National Education Association. It is held on the school day that is nearest to March 2nd which is Dr. Seuss's birthday. Dr. Seuss, Theodor Seuss Geisel, is best known for publishing more than 60 childens' books.
The Kaukauna Public Library celebrates reading every day, but this week they'll have special activities centered around Dr. Seuss.
On Monday there will be coloring projects for families to inspire the young reader in them. Guests can also vote for their favorite Dr. Seuss book. The voting will end Friday!
This Thursday the Library is partnering with the Kaukauna Police Department to offer 'Story time with Rocko' the only K9 with the Police Department in Kaukauna. There will be activities available from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Story time will be at 6:15 p.m.
