FOND DU LAC CO. (NBC 26) — Businesses in Fond du Lac County are asked to rollback their capacity. The health department said it's because cases are on the rise as they move back into Phase 1 of their Safe Restart Plan.

Tuesday, Fond du Lac County Health Officer Kim Mueller said they've seen their largest upswing of new cases to date. They've had 95 new ones since Friday afternoon. Due to the increase of cases, they're rolling back on their restart plan. This includes limiting businesses, bars, and restaurants to 25 percent capacity and social gatherings of ten people or less. The health department said these are recommendations, but are strongly encouraging them.

"As residents, business owners, and beyond of Fond du Lac County, I plead with you to do your part to slow the spread of this virus in the county," Muller said. "Stay home if you are sick, wear face coverings or masks, wash your hands frequently, and physically distance between others. We're all in this together."

However, Mueller adds, this does not affect school districts saying each one has prepared their own safety plans and should not be impacted. You can read the full statement here.
