BROWN COUNTY — The Brown County Sheriff's Office says the suspect accused of stealing a 1971 corvette has been taken into custody.
The Sheriff's Office had previously said that the classic car was stolen from a residence on August 15. The blue car was later recovered a couple of days later.
The Sheriff's Office released images of a suspect in the case, saying he "concealed merchandise" while at a Festival Foods on University Avenue in Green Bay at around 9:15 p.m. Thursday. The suspect has what appears to be a large cross tattooed on their left forearm.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the stolen car was last seen in the area of Highway W and Park Road in the town of Morrison around 4:45 p.m. The Sheriff's Office said the driver is suspected to have an injury to their left hand that was bleeding.
The 1971 blue Corvette model was one of the last years to have front and rear chrome bumpers.
