BROWN COUNTY (NBC 26) -- The Brown County Fair got underway in De Pere today.

The day began with rabbit and poultry judging and tonight they will select the best home-made wines and beers. While there are still plenty of rides and attractions, visitors to this year’s fair will notice a few changes for safety.

"We spread our food vendors farther apart than we've ever have before,” said Steve Corrigan, the President of B.C. Fair Association. “We only booked half of the commercial exhibits, which we have some excellent commercial exhibits. But again, for spacing and that. It's going to be about as normal of a fair as it's always been, but with a whole lot of precautions and care and cooperation."

Tonight, there will be a fender-bending demolition derby starting around 7. The fair runs through Sunday.
