HOBART (NBC 26) — While the weather maybe a little wet and rainy this weekend, that’s not stopping our furry friends from getting some fresh air and running outside.
Saturday morning, the Brown County Parks Department hosted its annual Dog Easter Egg Hunt.
It was held at the Brown County Dog park from 9 a.m. to noon.
An opportunity for our pets, to also participate in one of many people’s favorite holiday tradition.
Each dog was allowed to find five eggs and all dogs has to be leashed during the event.
Inside those eggs were nutritious treats provided by Vital Essentials.
Some lucky few were even able to earn a free annual dog park pass.
Pre-registration was required.
The cost to participate was five dollars per dog.
All proceeds will go towards the Brown County Parks Department for improvements to the dog park.
"This event is kind of a rewarding event for our pets, so they are a very important part of everyone’s family. They are the ones that are there for us through everything. So this is their opportunity to cut loose, have a good time and sniff out treats,” said Nicole Hilker, Brown County Parks Business Manager.
