BROWN CO. (NBC 26) - The Brown County Emergency Operations Center has been active by the county health department as a precautionary step in anticipation of coronavirus in our area.

The county said it’s been activated at the lowest level as a tool to help coordinate local efforts, and request state and federal resources for area responders.

The activation is in response to Governor Evers State of Emergency declaration of coronavirus in Wisconsin. The Executive Order #72 allows the state health department to take all necessary steps against the spread of the disease.

Right now, Brown County officials say there is no evidence of community spread in Wisconsin or any confirmed cases in Brown County. However, they are taking the necessary steps to prepare for the virus.
