LITTLE CHUTE (NBC 26) — A Wednesday morning bomb threat at Little Chute High School and Intermediate school has resulted in charges being referred for the individual responsible to Outagamie County Juvenile Intake, according to the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.

On Jan. 19, police responded to the school at 1402 Freedom Road for a bomb threat that was reported to staff who relayed that information to the school administration and school resource officer.

During this investigation, the Little Chute High School, Intermediate School and Middle School were placed on a hold. School administrators and officers were able to locate the source of the threat and determine that it was not credible.

The threat was made “as a joke," according to the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.

A further search was completed on the school property and no threats to students or staff were located, according to police. After the situation was found to be safe, the school's hold was lifted, and classes resumed on their normal schedule.

The individual responsible for making the threat was identified and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.

Fox Valley Metro Police Department was assisted by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin State Patrol, Appleton Police Department K9 Unit, and the Kaukauna Police Department.
