Body found in Dodge County, Silver Alert cancelled

DODGE COUNTY, Wis. (NBC 26)

A body has been found in Dodge County that matches the description of a man who was last seen two weeks ago in the City of Mayville.

According to a press release, around 7:00 Monday night, Dodge County Sheriff's Office received a report of a body located on private property near N7548 State Highway 67 in the Village of Kekokee in Dodge County.

Deputies responded to the scene and located a deceased male lying in a field. The man's body has been turned over to the Dodge County Medical Examiner's office for positive identification. The case is still under investigation.

Minutes before Dodge County sent out their press release on the body found, the Mayville Police Department sent out a release canceling a Silver Alert for a man who has been missing from Mayville in Dodge County.

77-year-old John J. Bachhuber was last seen at his home but had not been seen since 1:00 pm on February 15th.

In the release, the police said Mr. Machhuber has been located but did not say if he was safe.
