TOWN OF MEEME, Wis. — A 68-year-old man is dead after the bicycle he was riding and a car collided in Manitowoc County. The Sheriff's Department reports that the crash happened on Monday, April 8th around 3:30pm on County Road XX between Herr Road and Pioneer Road in the Town of Meeme.
Investigators believe a 27-year-old Manitowoc woman was driving eastbound on County Road XX when she hit an eastbound bicyclist. That man has been identified as 68-year-old Robert Hughes from rural Kiel. He was flown in a medical helicopter to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Neenah where authorities say he later died.
The crash remains under investigation.
