About 200 Bellin Run Kids for Running Program participants who face financial need will receive free running gear thanks to the Schneider Foundation and Kohls. They'll also get waived registration fees.

The program supports 200 kids who will be provided with shirts, shorts socks and running shoes to train for the Bellin Run. Items were selected at Kohls on Tuesday and running coordinators will sort them for coaches to distribute.

“It is super important we want all of the people especially the kids in our community to be healthy and we want to show them early on in their lives how to not only eat well and train and run and hopefully make that a lifestyle for them in the future,” says Kids For Running Coordinator Tia Deleers.

This is the 19th year for the kids for running program and for more than a decade Schneider has donated needed items to support the children and their fitness goals.

The 43rd annual Bellin Run will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 8.
