SUAMICO (NBC 26) -- Bay Port High School Principal Mike Frieder updated parents Monday on a social media threat to the school.
In a letter to families, the principal said a threat was posted Monday on social media by a student who does not currently attend classes at the school.
The letter says the school consulted with school resource officers and the Brown County Sheriff's Department to identify the source of the post.
"We appreciate those who came forward to raise concerns regarding the social media post. We encourage our families to initiate a conversation with your children about the seriousness of making threats in any form and appropriate social media use," the letter said.
It's not clear if any arrests have been made.
