BARRON, Wis. — A seminar was held on Saturday morning at the Barron Area Community Center to focus on grief and loss.
Community members were able to meet in a intimate space to listen and talk with grief expert Kal Rissman.
Rismann said that he wants to get across that life is a series of growths and losses, and when tragedies like this strike, it's important to grieve properly.
"What I'm hoping for Barron, Wisconsin, is that this horrible tragedy ends up being something that people grieve well and they come out the other side more resilient, more willing to get the most out of every day they have with people," Rissman said.
Sheriff Fitzgerald says his department has been screening gifts in another effort to help the Closs family. He said that Saturday's event can provide further help to the community.
"We need to talk about it and the people who are struggling, we want to have help for them , we want to have experts in the field and that's why we do events like this and we have some other events coming forward that are going to be very exciting," he said.
