Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett sent a letter to President Donald J. Trump, asking him to consider Milwaukee as the host of the 2020 Group of Seven (G7) summit.
The Mayor submitted the letter to the president on Sunday night, highlighting Milwaukee's growing economy and thriving suburban communities.
The announcement comes one day after President Trump said that he would not host the summit at the Trump National Doral Miami.
The 46th G7 is scheduled to take place on June 12, 2020.
