MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources' Bureau of Law Enforcement is looking for information on the illegal shooting of a bald eagle.
The federally protected bird was found lying in a ditch on County Highway Y near Hansen Rd. in Marathon County on Saturday.
Officials brought the deceased bird to the Raptor Education Group in Antigo, Wis. where they discovered lead fragments and wounds consistent to gunshot wounds.
