GREEN BAY, Wis — The woman accused of leaving a dog in a hot car at Lambeau Field has been identified and has been charged with a felony.

According to court documents, 55-year-old Debbie Rohloff of De Pere has been charged with a felony charge of mistreatment of animals and failure to provide food and water to a confined animal.

In July police were called to the Lambeau Field parking lot for a dog locked inside a hot car. By the time police arrived, the dog was deceased.

Rohloff admitted to police she had a meeting at the stadium and knew she had locked the 5-year-old dog in the car.

Court documents say Rohloff admitted to leaving the dog in the car for a long time with the windows closed.

The medical examiner says the cause of death is heat stroke, but the report is still under investigation.

If convicted on both charges Rohloff faces a $20,000 fine and up to nearly 4 years in prison.
