APPLETON, Wis. — Appleton Police are searching for an armed robbery suspect.
According to a news release, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at around 10:30 a.m. Monday. Police say it happened at a residence in the 500 block of Outagamie Court.
The reporting person told dispatchers he had been physically assaulted by a male suspect dressed in dark clothing.
The victim described the suspect as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, thin build, between the ages of 15 to 25 years old. The male was wearing dark colored clothing, gloves, and a camo-patterned coat. The suspect attempted to conceal his identity by covering his face with a ski mask.
Police the suspect ran off following the robbery.
Nearby schools were placed on lockdown as a precaution until officers determined there was no threat to schools.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
