Appleton man facing charges after police incident shut down traffic

APPLETON, Wis. — A 30-year-old Appleton man is facing multiple charges following an incident with police that caused a brief shutdown of traffic on a part of E. Wisconsin Avenue on Thursday.

Appleton Police say they got a call just before 3:30 Thursday afternoon of a man physically assaulting a woman in the 300 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue. Police believed the suspect had a handgun.

About 35 minutes after the initial call to police, Dieshon Manka-Moore was taken into custody and taken to Outagamie County Jail.

Online court records show Manka-Moore has been charged with domestic abuse, disorderly conduct, and possessing a firearm as a felon.
