Antigo Police help in "one pot" meth lab bust in Wolf River

TOWNSHIP OF WOLF RIVER (NBC 26) — A 39-year-old man is in jail after deputies busted a "one pot" methamphetamine lab in the Township of Wolf River Monday afternoon.

The Langlade County Sheriff's Office, with help from Antigo Police, said they uncovered an extensive clandestine "one pot" meth lab in and around a garage on a property thanks to a search warrant. They said 60 one-pot meth production bottles were removed (see photos), adding several had previously exploded. They also removed hazardous chemicals, fuels, medications, and other precursors used in the production of of the drug, finding 1,000 used hypodermic needles on the property as well. Deputies said everything was removed and properly disposed of.

A person was present at the time of the search and was evacuated as a safety precaution. The Langlade Co. Health Dept. condemned the garage.

The suspect is a Langlade Co. man who was arrested by Merrill Police. He's currently in jail awaiting an extensive list of charges. These include Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possessing Materials for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, Knowingly Possessing Methamphetamine Waste, Possession of Methamphetamine Paraphernalia, Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place, 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Obstructing an Officer, Child Neglect, and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping.

Deputies said another person is also being referred for possible criminal charges of Maintaining a Drug Trafficking Place.

The Sheriff's Office said they were on scene until 9:15 p.m. Monday.

They were helped by several agencies including the Antigo Police Department; the Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI); the Merrill Police Department; the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office; the Fox Valley Metro Police Department; Wolf River & White Lake Volunteer Fire Departments; the City of Antigo Fire Department; the Langlade County Health Department; and CLEAR Team members from agencies that included DCI, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, the Forest County Sheriff’s Office, and the Shawano Police Department.
