OSHKOSH (NBC 26) — The Oshkosh Area School District will have $100,000 more to spend thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor.
In a press release on Wednesday the Oshkosh Education Foundation announced that they recently received $100,000 from an anonymous donor. The funds have been allocated to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund and will be used to enhance the educational experience in the Oshkosh Area School District this year and into the future.
“We are truly humbled and grateful for this generous donor who appreciates what the Oshkosh Education Foundation does for students, staff, and schools in the Oshkosh Area School District,” said Theresa Duren, Oshkosh Education Foundation Director. “This remarkable gift will provide a lasting impact for many years to come.”
As one of the largest gifts received by the Foundation, this donation will have a significant impact on the Foundation’s ability to support innovative programming and resources for Oshkosh students. The Foundation fuels new and innovative programming through teacher-driven funding requests that fall outside a school’s budget. Grants to teachers fund special class projects and provide special assistance to students and school programs. This funding helps teachers implement creative ideas that expand their students’ academic experiences - inspiring lifelong learning and success. Previously, the Foundation has provided financial support to various student-focused initiatives including the new Fab Lab at Oshkosh North High School, Grab-and-Go Meals for those in need, and grants for teachers.
