GREEN BAY, Wis — Hello, summer! Friday marks the summer solstice, also known as the longest day of the year. Thousands in northeast Wisconsin and across the country are marking the longest day by participating in fund raising events for the Alzheimer's Association.
Participants took part in the activities to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's patients and their caregivers.
The funds go to support and research programs.
"The day with the most light is the day we fight. It is our rally cry. It is our motto. The day you see events happening throughout the community today and across the nation," says Sarah Seeger of the Alzheimer's Association.
