OSHKOSH (NBC 26) -- All schools within the Oshkosh Area School District will move to virtual learning this week, the school district announced Tuesday.

The school district said schools will transition to Model 4: Virtual Learning on Thursday, September 24. The transition is due to the rise in COVID-19 cases and related quarantines.

A statement from the school district says officials expect to remain in virtual learning district-wide for at least two weeks. The District will evaluate the ability to return to in-person learning on October 8, with the earliest possible date of return on October 12 pending guidance from the Winnebago County Health Department.

This announcement comes a day after the district said two high schools in the district would transition to virtual learning. That transition has not changed, the school district says.
