Suspect arrested in Menasha stand-off situation

One person is in custody after an hours-long standoff with police and deputies in one Menasha neighborhood.

MENASHA, WIS. (NBC 26) — An early morning stand-off situation in one Menasha neighborhood is over after hours of negotiating with the person inside.

Authorities say a 911 text came to dispatchers Wednesday night at 11:15.

Police responded quickly and got everyone out of the home except for the person who refused to leave.

Menasha police and Winnebago County deputies worked together to get the person out of the home.

NBC 26 Today's MacLeod Hageman was on scene and streamed the incident live as authorities brought the suspect into custody.

People showed up while we were filming and appeared to be concerned about what was happening, but police asked them to leave.

They said they knew what was happening, but they refused to offer any details.

We're working to learn more about this situation and the person involved.

Menasha Police are responding to an active incident this morning in the 1500 block of Greendale Street.

The 1000 block of Fieldcrest Drive is also closed at this time.

Police are asking drivers to find a different route and avoid the area.
