The Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton was the site of the 32nd annual MASH Blood Drive honoring veterans on Wednesday.
The Community Blood Center hosted the event. It was moved from its traditional location in Houdini Plaza to ensure ample social distancing space for all donors.
"The Mash Blood Drive started 32 years ago and is coincidentally right before the 4th of July Holiday because it's a little bit harder to collect blood over the 4th of July Holiday, so for 32 years, we've been running this blood drive to help holster the blood supply as we head into that 4th of July holiday, so that's what it was intended 32 years ago, and that's what we're still doing,” explained Kristine Belanger, COO/Vice President of Operations for the Community Blood Center
They had well over 200 donations of life saving blood today. For every unit of blood collected, the CBC will make a monetary donation to the AMVETS Post in Greenville.
