GREEN BAY (NBC 26) -- A Northeast Wisconsin organization is getting a huge donation of diapers.

Family & Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin recently announced that it had to cancel its free diaper distribution events due to cuts in funding. Upon hearing this news, Brown County United Way and Proctor & Gamble announced they are donating more than 20,000 diapers to the organization.

According to a news release from Brown County United Way, the diapers are the result of the annual diaper drive Brown County United Way holds each September. It just so happens that United Way and Proctor & Gamble were previously in contact for several months about a large corporate donation prior to this announcement. As it turns out, Family & Childcare Resources of Northeast Wisconsin's need for diapers worked out for all organizations involved.

According to United Way, babies need up to 12 diapers a day, and toddlers need about 8.
