TOWN OF BOVINA, Wis. — A 17-year-old girl from Shiocton died after her car lost control on an icy road and crashed into a tree, the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office says.
The Outagamie County Coronor's Office identified her as Haley Apple. She died at the scene of that crash from multiple blunt force injuries.
Deputies responded to the crash around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Thede Road south of Newland Road in the Town of Bovina.
The Sheriff's Office says in a news release that the car was heading southbound on Thede Road when it lost control due to ice-covered road conditions. The car went into a ditch and hit a tree.
The driver, later identified as Haley, was alone in the car and died at the scene. She was a junior in the Shiocton School District.
The crash is being investigated by the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Department.
