A year ago, the COVID-19 Community Response Fund was created to help people hit hard by the pandemic.

Today, the Community Foundation for The Fox Valley Region and United Way Fox Cities announced $1.6 million dollars in grants has been awarded to 106 local nonprofit groups to help in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The dollars that we invested with these organizations often times was lifesaving. It helped them keep their services going. Helped them to perhaps buy resources such as food that they could in turn distribute throughout their communities,” said Peter Kelly President/CEO United Way Fox Cities.

Grants were given to groups in Outagamie, Calumet, Shawano, Waupaca and Winnebago Counties.
