A Little Chute high school teacher, Jason LaVigne, has been charged with third degree sexual assault in Marinette County, according to online court records.
The Little Chute Area School District website says LaVigne has been a business education instructor since 1997 and also serves as advisor to the Future Business Leaders of America.
Little Chute District Administrator David Botz released the following statement:
"Little Chute Area School District was made aware on Monday, June 4, of an alleged incident that occurred off school grounds involving a District employee. We have been in communication with law enforcement and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement in the best interests of our school community. The employee in question has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing. As this is a confidential personnel matter, no further information can be released at this time. The education and safety of our students has been and always will be our top priority."
