Three men were rescued by Green Lake County officials while out on a lake over the weekend.
The sheriff’s department says at 7:38 a.m. on Saturday, August 6, three men were on Lake Puckaway when their boat began taking on water.
The men were unable to bail the water out fast enough and the boat motor wouldn’t start.
The boat then sank leaving the three men in the water with life jackets on.
Water rescue personnel from the sheriff’s department as well as the Princeton and Markesan Fire Department were able to get the men to safety.
No one was injured.
Green Lake County officials say the correct use of life jackets on the boat prevented a much more serious incident.
