Lawrence University offered a community forum Thursday evening following President Trump's notice to withdraw the "Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals" program or "DACA" program.

Immigration attorney Mónica Santa María was invited to lead a free discussion open to the public to answer questions and concerns.

"For people who are affected by the rescission, I did want to make sure that they knew what the timelines were, what the eligibility requirements were, in case they wanted to renew," said Maria.

Leah McSorley, an Associate Dean of Students for international student services said this could affect student's friends, families, the wider Appleton community and they wanted to have the best and most up to date information.

"We feel that providing an immigration attorney available to students to get the most up to date information can really ease students anxieties and get connected with the resources that they need," she said.
