APPLETON -- It's the next step for Lawrence University in moving forward to create a diverse experience for students.

Thursday night the university held an information session for students and faulty to ask any questions they may have about the University President's open letter dealing with curbing racism and creating diversity.

This event was a time for all to speak freely and ask questions some may find difficult in other environments.

" Their attendance shows their willingness to move in the right direction... People were agreeing to disagree no everyone is going to be on the same page about everything" says Pa Lee Mau, a assistant Dean of Students for Multi-Cultural Affairs , who answered questions at tonight information session.

But overall many were left with a sense of optimism as the University embarks on a long path in what Jaime Gonzales calls "a long path."
