A big weekend for Lake Winnebago as up to 10-thousand anglers prepare for the Battle on Bago ice fishing tourney.
Today fishing clubs moved several ice bridges and even created a few ATV bridges to help fishermen and women better navigate on the depleting and cracking ice.
"We're trying to recommend to go out with four wheelers and snowmobiles if you can cause we'll keep some of the vehicles travel down, cause we don't know what the ice conditions are gonna do,” say Don Herman of the Otter Street Fishing Club.
In most spots there's about 18 inches of ice as of Wednesday on Lake Winnebago. While that is plenty for a vehicle to drive on, experts are saying that can change rapidly this time of year. Especially considering it could get up into the 50's this weekend.
