Kittenpalooza allows pet lovers to adopt without fees

More than 50 kittens were ready for a new home at Kittenpalooza Sunday  at the Oshkosh Area Humane Society with no adoption fee.

People came to pick out their new feline friend, fill out an adoption application and in three-to-four days will find out if they are proud new kitten owners.

The kittens are all spayed or neutered and up to date with vaccinations, ready for a new loving home.

"Before these kittens came in, we had over 100 kittens in foster care and we want to make sure that these animals are finding good homes and so by having the adopt-a-thon, hopefully it brings a lot of people in looking for kittens and it helps us learn, our community learn, about the kittens and we're all about good matches," said Cheryl Rosenthal, Oshkosh Area Humane Society.

Rosenthal says the humane society does more than 1700 cat and kitten adoptions a year.

She says the society hopes people will choose adoption and continue welcoming new animals into their homes.
