Students from Ashwaubenon got the chance to have breakfast with the fire chief and get a ride in a fire truck.

It's all part of Fire Prevention Week.

The students are challenged to create posters and the winners of the poster contest get to visit the fire station and have breakfast with the chief. They also got to wash the fire trucks and the biggest treat of the day is when the kids got to ride in those fire trucks.

"The reward is when we drop them off at school,” said Eric Dunning, the Chief of Ashwaubenon Public Safety. “The relationship public safety has with our school district and with it being favorable weather out there today the kids are going to get a good surprise seeing their classmates waiting outside to cheer them on."

The idea is for the students to learn about fire safety while having fun at the same time.
